1. Acceptance

These terms of use ("Terms") govern access to the site and the use of the services offered by Groupe Conseil Toitures ("we", "us"), an independent service established in Québec, Canada. By using the site, submitting a form or purchasing a package, you ("the Client") acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms without reservation.

2. Nature of the service — important limits

GCT Expert provides exclusively a service of information, document review and administrative verification of roofing quotes submitted by the Client. Specifically:

GCT Expert is not a regulated company under the Building Act (R.S.Q., c. B-1.1) and holds no licence from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ);
we are not construction contractors and do not perform, plan or supervise any roofing work;
we are not building inspectors (including, without limitation, AIBQ-member inspectors), engineers, architects, professional technologists or accredited appraisers, and we perform no physical inspection of the building, the roof or its structure;
we issue no certification, compliance attestation, technical validation or expert opinion in the legal sense;
we are not brokers, agents, negotiators or representatives of contractors, manufacturers or insurers;
we issue no warranty as to the quality, durability, compliance or execution of work carried out by a third party;
our reviews are based solely on the documents and information provided by the Client; we do not validate their factual accuracy or regulatory compliance.

The reports, reviews, recommendations and risk-area flagging produced are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute legal advice, engineering advice, a building inspection, an expert opinion in the legal sense, or a regulated professional opinion. The final decision to sign, refuse, modify or renegotiate a quote remains entirely the Client's responsibility.

3. Packages and pricing

Services are offered as packages whose contents, delivery time and price are described on each package page. Prices are in Canadian dollars, taxes extra. Packages currently offered are: Initial Review ($149), Strategic Comparative Review ($299), 4-Hour Express Review ($249), and Condo Board File (from $1,500). All packages are billed at the flat fee shown.

4. Free pre-check

The free pre-check consists of a package recommendation based on the context described by the Client. It does not constitute a full comparative analysis, contains no detailed validation of the quotes, and creates no purchase obligation on either side.

5. Payment

Payment is required before the report is delivered. Payment is processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified provider; card data never transits through our servers and Stripe is solely responsible for its security. The Client receives an official receipt and invoice by email automatically after payment. The condominium / board package uses a custom-quote workflow: an itemized proposal and a secure Stripe payment link are sent after an initial assessment of the file.

6. Delivery times

Unless otherwise stated on the package page, the report is delivered electronically within an estimated 24 business hours after complete receipt of documents and payment. Times are indicative and may vary with the complexity of the file.

7. Client obligations

provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information;
upload only documents the Client has the right to share;
not use the service for illegal, fraudulent, defamatory purposes or to infringe a third party's rights;
not upload malicious software or attempt to compromise the site's security.

8. Cancellation and refund policy

Due to the digital and personalized nature of the service, orders become non-refundable as soon as analysis has begun. Before analysis starts, the Client may request cancellation and obtain a full refund by writing to advise@gctexpert.com. In the event of a manifest error on our part in a delivered report, we will correct it free of charge or, at our reasonable discretion, offer a full or partial refund.

9. Intellectual property

The site, its structure, texts, report templates, methodologies and graphic elements are the exclusive property of GCT Expert and are protected by applicable laws. The Client retains ownership of the documents uploaded. Delivered reports are granted to the Client under a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence for internal use; any resale, public redistribution or commercial use is prohibited without written authorization.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GCT Expert, its officers, employees and collaborators may not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising from:

use or inability to use the site or the reports;
the quality, performance or non-performance of work by a third-party contractor;
a decision made by the Client based on a report;
the inaccuracy of information or documents provided by the Client.

Our total liability, all claims combined, is in any case limited to the amount actually paid by the Client for the relevant package during the twelve (12) months preceding the event.

11. Independence

GCT Expert is a strictly independent service. We receive no commission, kickback or remuneration from roofing contractors in connection with a client file.

12. Personal information

Processing of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

13. Force majeure

We cannot be held liable for delays or non-performance caused by force majeure, including but not limited to: cloud-infrastructure outage, cyberattack, government order, pandemic, armed conflict.

14. Modifications to the Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. The applicable version is the one in effect on the date the form is submitted or the package is purchased. Continued use of the site after a modification constitutes acceptance of the new version.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws in force in the province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Montréal judicial district, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
